Reiki

Reiki, pronounced ray-key, is a Japanese word meaning universal (rei) life energy (ki). Reiki is an ancient healing technique, rediscovered in the late 1800s by Mikao Usui. Today, many styles and schools of Reiki exist. The Holistic Way offers treatments and courses in the traditional Usui method.

A traditional Usui Reiki treatment, is non-invasive and uses a light touch of the pracititioners hands to specific areas of the recipients body to re-balance energy and stimulate the bodys natural healing ability. The experience of reiki is one of deep relaxation and gentle warmth.

A treatment lasts approximately 1.5 hours, during which time you remain fully clothed. Throughout the session you will likely feel warmth from the practitioners hands, and may experience tingling sensations, emotional release, and/or various thoughts and images. Without question, though, you will feel an overall feeling of well-being, calm, and relaxation.
